Here’s a fun competition for you. I have a pair of tickets for the Friendly fires gig at The forum, Kentish Town for Friday night (15th May). I can no longer go, because I’ll be about a hundred miles away at the time, so I’d like to give them away to someone deserving.
All you need to do to win the tickets is to add a comment to this post (below), telling me why I should give them to you. The person with the most convincing reason by 5pm on Thursday, 14th will win them… simple as that!
Be sure to include your email address in the space provided, because I will email the tickets to the winner.

You know you want to…
Because I like Fire and I’m Friendly!
I don’t know.. I haven’t even listen to the album yet! ;p
hi,because when i went to see them last year i had to sit outside the venue with security because i overheated and ended up missing half the show[must be getting old],cheers…
I love to win the pair of tickets as I could treat them to my friend who could impress / take a young lady to the gig who he has been in love with for the past year . . and thus it could be the start something beautiful or lust full either way you could be the reason for the magic
So…. five names in the hat so far! Anybody else want to be in with a shot?
So I can claim some expenses for the night
Because I love to rock
‘PARIS’ i love that song so does my girlfriend, and i’m going to ask my her to move there with me while we are watching friendly fires perform it on stage, i know sounds romantic, but Paris is!
because i bought tickets for my boyfriends birthday he has since dumped me and i find he is now taking another girl
they are my most favouritists band and i need something good to come my way!! feel free to play “exlover” on the violins for me!!!
Never in a million years did I imangine that there would be so many good reasons to be given the tickets. This is going to be a difficult decision, people!
I’d like the tickets so i could take a friend of mine and meet up with another who is already going. It would be a great way to bring 3 old friends together again as sadly we’re slowly drifting apart. Tried getting tickets elsewhere but nothing going – so please help us heal old friendships with these friendly fire tickets!
If you let me have these tickets I’ll give you a foot rub!!!
I would quite like to go, but I am mental, and not allowed out at night. I think the girl who was dumped should go. Amen.
Because listening to Friendly Fires whilst at work was the only thing which got me and my friend through boring shifts…
….plus it would really impress the hotty at work if i invited him to join me…
pretty please….
My friend had his back broken (2 cracked vertabrae) by some unscrupulous boy racer twatface over the Easter weekend who was driving up the wrong side of the road and knocked him off his bike.
Since then he has spent 2 weeks in hospital flat on his back unable to move at all having other people help him go to the toilet followed by the last 3 weeks inching around his house in a plastic girdle to which he is becoming alarmingly attached.
We had hoped to meet up with another mate this Friday in his first proper venture to the outside world since the event, so you can imagine our disappointment/jealousy when we found he couldn’t cos he was going to see Friendly Fires at the Forum…
We’ve been trying to find some tix to buy off gumtree & elsewhere but no joy so far…please help! cheers.
Unfortunatley I have never ever been to a real live gig. I realise this makes me sound like a complete loser but tis true.
I absolutely love friendly fires with cream and cherries and choclate flakes on top and one day would love to say to my children and my childrens children when I am old and crinkly that this was the first gig I ever went to. Imagine that…
My pa is always going on about when he saw the Sex pistols so this can be my very own gig story and Andy, you’re name will forever go down in my family history as the cool radio guy who made it possible
My wife is due to give birth to our first baby (daughter) on the 15th May and although she won’t be attending she is going to give her blessing to allow me and my mate Rory go. I believe this should be enough to secure said tickets but please take into consideration as a caveat to my plea that Rory has also just got his first proper job since qualifying and after 2 years of study and not leaving the house this is his first night on the tiles. Would you consider this to be dedication enough? Pray the lord in generous today…………..
Personally I’d take the foot rub from Matt! Hello Matt
haha…
On the off chance that you take regular visits to a chiropractor(?) and you’re charmless to the pleas of the recently disabled/dumped/impregnated/bored then I’ll state my case (finally).
My best friend of 15 years is studying to become a (legal aid) solicitor. In the five depressing years of study she has been through all of the above (ok not impregnated – she’s a good girl!) and ergo deserves some good fortune generally. I’m a rubbish friend as I cannot afford to surprise her with ebayed/gumtreed tickets as I’m broke from working in development NOT to be confused with being a developer! But she would be equally happy if you took her for a drink as you seem like a nice guy, ok so this has turned into a matchmaking rant. Did I mention she’s very pretty?
Anyway good luck, it’s a tough decision. Is there a word limit here? Apparently not so i’ll wrap it up now.
ps enjoy yr trip!
iwant the tickets because me and ma girlfriend love the fires! i intended to ask her to marry me mid gig, but the guy on gumtree i was going to buy the tickets of has let me down.
Andy,
I’m a nice girl, I give my seat up to the elderly/pregnant/’pissed -off looking’ on the tube, I never download music illegally, I smile at tramps, sometimes give them a wink if they look particularly low. All in all i’m a good person, they say if you do good things then good things come back to you, and I’ve seen My Name is Earl, it looks convincing. So I now feel its time for a bit of good to come my way and having a lovely old dance and a pint of cider out of a plastic cup whilst being knocked from ear to end is the only thing I want to be doing this Friday night.
make my dream come true or I will never give another tramp a wink again.
Warmest Regards
Ellie Gregory
…..because me and my partner will be twice the age of all the other nu rave clad kids, who really should have been there the first time around to be able to say “we’re so original”! Give some old timers the tickets and make their day.
Chris
Enough of the questionable sob stories!
I think I should get the tickets because I’m a genuine fan….and my step sister is even more so
without these tickets we wont be able to reunite our group of camden crawlers..and that would just be a shame all round!
Cos I know where you live and I have the keys!
Just so that nobody panics and calls the police, Stoner is my former flat-mate, drinking partner and as he would rather put it: Spiritual guide. Oh, and he’s disqualified from the competition on the grounds of insider dealing and blackmail!
